Montego Bay, Jamaica (McKoy’s News) – Assault Charges: A St. James woman, who is involved in a cross-case with another woman, has been making efforts to compensate the other woman.
The defendant, Latoya Bulgin is facing a charge of assault occasioning bodily harm committed against Ramsay, while Ramsay faces a similar charge committed against Bulgin.
The matter came up for mention before presiding judge Natalie Hart-Hines in the St. James Parish Court on Friday.
The prosecution is alleging that Ramsay was washing at a standpipe when Bulgin approached her and held on to the pipe. An argument developed which resulted in both women assaulting each other.
The two parties entered into an agreement at mediation and Bulgin agreed to pay Ramsay $61,000, she has been making payments through the mediation centre and has an outstanding balance of $6,500.
Before disposing of the case, Judge Hart-Hines told Bulgin that she should produce her receipts to the court on her next court date.
Meanwhile, the execution of a warrant that was issued for Ramsay, who failed to show up for court on several mention dates, is to be executed.
The matter comes back to court on August 16 and Bulgin’s bail was extended.
