Jamaica Crime News, Kingston: One of two armed robbers, who held up and attempted to rob a businessman in downtown Kingston on Friday afternoon, October 19, was reportedly shot and killed by his victim.
One police source told our news team that the dead robber still remains unidentified, while the identity of the businessman is being withheld.
Reports are that shortly after 5:30 p.m. on Friday, the businessman who operates a popular business in downtown Kingston, was sitting inside his vehicle outside his business place, when he was approached by two men.
It is further reported that both men brandished handguns and demanded money from the businessman.
When their demands were not met, the men started to physically abuse their victim . The businessman managed to pull his licensed firearm and opened fire at the gunmen, hitting one of his attackers.
Both men ran, but wounded gunman collapsed a short distance away.
The police were summoned and upon arrival, the wounded robber was transported to hospital where he died.
