Armed Robber Held in Kingston Charged with Illegal Possession of Firearm and Ammunition, and Armed Robbery

Jamaica Crime News, Kingston: The Kingston Central police have confirmed that, a man who was taken into custody on Saturday, June 16, after he and a group of armed men attempted to rob a businessman at gunpoint in Kingston has now been slapped with criminal charges. An illegal firearm was also reportedly taken from the accused.
The police say the accused has since been charged with Illegal Possession of Firearm and Ammunition and Armed Robbery.
Reports by the police are that shortly after 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, a businessman was at his business place located along a section of Adam Road when he was approached by a group of armed robbers.
Armed Robber Held in Kingston, Illegal Firearm Seized
The businessman who is a licensed firearm holder challenged the gunmen and they ran. A team of officers who were on patrol in the area responded to gunshots being fired and came upon the gunmen fleeing the scene.
The police chased the gunmen and managed to apprehend one of them. The illegal firearm, a single Action Browning semi-automatic pistol loaded with nine live 9mm rounds was taken from him. The other gunmen escape in the area on foot.
