Jamaica Crime News, Kingston: The Half Way Tree Police are now seeking the public assistance to identify a man, who was shot and killed by a licensed firearm holder, during a robbery attempt in Kingston 10, on Monday night, January 21.
The deceased is of dark complexion, slim built and about 6-ft tall. He was dressed in a black pullover, grey pants and red shoes.
Reports by the Half-Way-Tree Police are that about 9:00 p.m., the licensed firearm holder and another man were walking along a section of Sundown Crescent, when they were approached by the accused.
He brandished a handgun and held them at gunpoint, then proceeded to rob them.
Both complainants put up a struggle, during what time they managed to overpower the armed man, and he was shot by the licensed firearm holder.
The police were summoned and upon arrival, the wounded gunman was transported to hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Our news team also learnt that the illegal weapon was later handed over to the police.
