The young Arawak Camp team which hails from the community of Lambs River in the parish of Westmoreland will have their first ever taste of big goal football when the Mt.Peto football competition kicks off on March 10. Arawak Camp who is known in their community as a young exciting team has decided to go out of the area to gain experience and to compete to the best of their abilities.This team started out in the summer of 2015 with youths ranging from ages 12-20 but upon given chance after chances they have proved that they can manage to match up to their seniors counterparts. Arawak Camp has entered the Kew Park PYC and the Lambs River community leagues and showed what they are capable of doing for the past years. They managed to finished third last year in the Lambs River Championships Cup and lost in the Semifinals of the Luther Buchanan Gold Cup in December.
This team was started by Carson Findley who decided to try with younger youths and today he’s proud to see his hard work with them paying off, also we want to thank our longtime sponsor Ulett Produce and Jonathan Bailey who help out in managing the team. The team features players from High Schools in the western region such as Cornwall College,Cambridge High,Irwin High,Anchovy,St.James and Godfrey Stewart. Only five adults are in the team with only one of them passing the age of 25.
