St. James, Jamaica (McKoy’s News) – Another Woman Murdered: Over the past two days, two women have been brutally murdered in the parish of St James and this has driven fear into the residents of Irwin.
The latest victim has been identified as Gillian Reid, otherwise called Jody, 38-year-old Practical Nurse of Irwin Dale, Hillview.
Reports are that about 8:30 pm on Monday, Reid was at home with her common-law husband when she told him that she was going to a nearby shop to purchase an item.
Some minutes later loud explosions were heard in the area and the boyfriend got suspicious and began to call her cell phone unsuccessfully.
He then went to investigate and after walking a short distance to an open lot he came upon her body along the roadway.
Reid was discovered lying on her back in a pool of blood with what appeared to be multiple gunshot wounds to her body.
The police were summoned and upon arrival, the scene was processed and the body transported to the Cornwall Regional
Hospital where she was pronounced dead.
Despite an all-out attempt by the police to curb crime in the parish of St James these senseless killings still continues.
