Jamaica Crime News, Hanover: Murder Rocks Hanover – The parish of Hanover recorded yet another murder on Tuesday night, January 15, sending the total to four persons killed since the start of the year.
The latest person to be murdered in the parish of Hanover has been identified as Kevon Cunningham, otherwise called “Ciro” 23-year-old laborer of Salt Spring in St James, but was living in Sandy Bay, Montpellier, in Hanover up to the time of his death.
Reports by the Sandy Bay police are that about 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday, Cunningham was standing along the roadway in Montpellier, when he was ambushed by a group of armed men.
He was shot multiple times by the gunmen, who then made their escape in the area on foot.
The police were summoned and upon arrival, the wounded man was transported to the Noel Holmes Hospital in Lucea, where he was pronounced dead.
In the meanwhile, the Hanover police have confirmed that Cunningham was a known violent producer, who was constantly under the police radar for his involvement in a number of illegal activities being committed in and around the Sandy Bay area.
