Jamaica Crime News, St James: One of three men who were taken into custody by the Anchovy police on Sunday morning, January 13, in connection with the seizure of an illegal firearm, has been officially charged.
Facing charges of Illegal Possession of Firearm and Ammunition is 28-year-old, Ricardo Clayton, farmer of Normandy district, also in St James.
Reports by the police are that shortly after 9:00 a.m. on Sunday, a team of officers were carrying out patrols in the Anchovy policing area, when they spotted the three men traveling in a blue Toyota Corolla motor car.
They signaled the driver to stop and the occupants were ordered from the vehicle.
Clayton who was the driver, was searched and a Smith and Wesson pistol loaded with six live rounds, was taken from his waistband.
All three occupants were taken into custody and Clayton subsequently charged.
