The three officers,  Corporal Elaine Stewart, District Constables Juliana Clevon and Marlon Grant who were arrested and charges in connection with the death of Mario Deane, in August of 2013 were all given a new court date when they appeared in the St James Parish Circuit Court recently.

All three officers who are facing charges of manslaughter,  perverting the course of Justice and misconduct in public Office had their bails extended until March 22nd.

Reports are that on August 3rd, 2014, 31-year-old, Mario Deane was picked up for a simple spliff during a police operation carried out in the home town of Rosemount.

Deane was taken to the Barnett Street lockup where he was brutally beaten to death, allegedly by other inmates and based on negligence by all three officers.
