Kimila Rose aka Kim, a nurse from the Annotto Bay Hospital in St. Mary was pronounced dead at the same Hospital where she is employed after a taxi in which she was a passenger slammed into a truck that was parked along the roadway in the parish last evening.
According to the police, the nurse had just completed her shift at the Annotto Bay Hospital when she boarded a taxi that plies the Annotto Bay to Port Maria route shortly after 9 p.m.
It’s reported that the taxi was travelling along the Rosend main road when the driver pulled to the left shoulder to avoid hitting a minibus that was travelling in the opposite direction.
Police sources say the driver, on seeing the truck parked along the roadway, tried to manoeuvre the taxi around it when the car skidded and slammed into the truck.
The nurse and two other passengers were pulled from the mangled vehicle and taken to the Annotto Bay Hospital where she was pronounced dead and the others treated.
