Jamaica News, Portland: Scores of Jamaica Labor Party supporters were sent in a jubilant mood on Thursday morning, following the arrival of their prospective candidate Ann-Marie Vaz, at the polling station.

Mrs. Vaz, who is also the wife of West Portland, Member of Parliament, Daryl Vaz, arrived to cast her vote shortly after 10:00 a.m. on Thursday and she was flocked by party supporters and media personnel.

Despite turning up for the polls at an early timing, EOJ officers are reporting that voting across the Constituency of East Portland, have been relatively slow, due to constant heavy rainfall.

Dozens of hardcore supporters, of both the JLP and the PNP, turned up in scattered groups with their umbrellas still ready to support their parties.

Recently the death of PNP Member of Parliament, Dr. Lynvale Bloomfield, resulted in by-election between the Jamaica Labor Party representatives, Ann-Marie Vaz and the People’s National Party representative, Damion Crawford.
