Jamaica Crime News, Westmoreland: The Westmoreland police say they seized 27 rounds of ammunition during an operation carried out in Hatfield district on Thursday evening.

No one has been arrested in connection with this latest seizure.

One Man Taken into Custody in Connection with Seizure of Illegal Firearm and Ammunition

Reports by the police are that about 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, a team of officers were on patrol in Hatfield district when they saw a knap-sack bag on the ground.

The bag arose the suspicions of the officers and it was searched.  The bag was later found to contain 27 live 9mm cartridges.
