Alleged Robber Attacked by Angry Mob in St Elizabeth

Jamaica Crime News, St Elizabeth: An unidentified man who is accused of breaking into the home of a senior citizen in the parish of St Elizabeth on Thursday, October 11, was reportedly attacked and chopped almost to death by an angry mob.

The police in the parish say they are now carrying out an investigation surrounding the incident.

Reports are that shortly after 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, the alleged robber went to the community of Gutters in St Elizabeth, and broke into the home of a senior citizen.

Further reports are that a neighbor stumbled upon the robbery and raised an alarm.

The robber ran from the premises and he was chased by community members, who later caught up with her.

It is also reported that the robber was beaten and chopped almost to death by the angry mob.  He was later handed over to the police and is presently at hospital under police guard.
