Jamaica Crime News, St James: A man who the St James police say was featured on the list of most wanted men in the parish and another man, were fatally shot during a confrontation with members of the security forces in Irwin, St James, on Wednesday morning, September 5.
The wanted man has been identified as Donrick Campbell, otherwise called “Taliban”, while the other alleged gunman has been identified as Owen Jenkins.
The police reported that shortly after 4:00 a.m. on Wednesday, a joint military team went to a section of Irwin community known as Chelsea in search of Campbell, who is wanted for five counts of shooting, shooting with intent, illegal possession of firearm and ammunition, and murder.
The police further stated that upon reaching a house in the community, they came under heavy gunfire from men on the inside. The fire was returned and a group of armed men was seen running into bushes.
Following the shooting, a search was carried out of the area where Campbell and Jenkins were found suffering from gunshot wounds. A pistol and several rounds of ammunition were taken from one of the men.
In the meanwhile, the police also stated that Donrick Campbell, otherwise called “Taliban” who resided at a section of Irwin community known as “Gully” was also being sought for the July 2017, the murder of Jacqueline Bowen.
