Alleged Lotto Scammer Charged in St James

Jamaica Crime News, St James: A man who hails from the community of Salt Spring in St James and who is believed to be a major player in the Lottery Scam was arrested and charged on Wednesday, May 9, for Reasonable Suspicion, for Possession of Identity Informations.

The name of the accused is being withheld pending further investigations.

Reports by the Area One Lottery Scam Task Force are that, between the hours of 5:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m., the lawmen went to a section of Salt Spring known as Meggie Top and carried out several searches.

A house occupied by the accused man was searched, a laptop and cellphone were seized.

Both devices were searched and found to contain personal information of residents residing overseas.

He was henceforth taken into custody for Breaches of the Law Reform and Special Provisions Act.
