Kingston, Jamaica (McN) – Earlan Bartley, known as Alkaline, Jamaican Dancehall Deejay is still in police custody, after he reported to police on Thursday for question in the murder of a man in January of this year.
Police transported Earlan Bartley on Thursday February 9, 2017, to the Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB) headquarters for further investigation, after a first round of investigation completed at the Kingston Area 4 Police Headquarter, into the shooting death of 28-year-old Rohan “Head” Morris, in St Andrew last month.
Morris was reportedly shot over 15 time, just minutes after he hid his 5-year-old daughter under a mattress, and told her he loved her, as gunmen kicked in the door to his home.
On Tuesday police announced that Bartley must report to the Kingston Area 4 Police Headquarter, by 5 pm on the following day, Wednesday, for questioning related to the murder of Morris, however, the Deejay’s attorney Peter Champagnie made arrangement with the Area 4 police for Alkaline to appear on Thursday.
Superintendent of the Police Corporate Communication Unit, Stephanie Lindsay stated this evening that the police have concluded their questioning with Bartley, but the superstar Deejay will remain in custody.
