Agricultural Bill Approved By Senate

Kingston, Jamaica (McKoy’s News)- Agricultural Bill Approved By Senate: The Agricultural Loan Societies and Approved Organizations Act, 2017  was approved by the Senate late yesterday thereby extinguishing the need for the Agricultural Credit Board.

The Agricultural Loan Societies and Approved Organizations Act, 2017 will carry out the functions of the  Agricultural Credit Board and teaming up it monitorial and inspection functions through the Registrar of Co-operative Societies, as well as the establishment of an appeal tribunal as well as the regulation and registration. Related matters, by order or under the registrar, and the certification of approved organisations by the registrar.

69 amendments were passed in the Bill by the Senate.
