Montego Bay, Jamaica (Mckoy’s News) – Accused Man Case Thrown out for Assault: A man accused of physically assaulting a woman had his case thrown out today in the St. James Parish Court.
During today’s court sitting, the clerk-of-court told presiding judge Sandria Wong-Small that she has had dialogue with the investigating officer and he told her that he had spoken with the complainant prior to the last court date and that she had indicated to him that she was on her way to the doctor. She added that the officer also indicated that he has not been able to locate the complainant since then.
The court also heard that three trial dates had been set and the complainant failed to turn up on those occasions.
The judge said she believes Headley has been coming to court long enough and was not inclined to keep the matter on the list any further.
Under those circumstances, the prosecution offered no further evidence.
Details of the allegations were not told to the court but it is alleged that the complainant was at home when she got into an altercation with Headley. During the fracas, Headley allegedly grabbed the woman to her neck causing her to fall to the ground. It was not made clear to the court what injuries the complainant had sustained.
