Accountant Accused Of Stealing Over $1.2 Million

An accountant accused of stealing over $1.2 million from a prominent teacher’s college in Montego Bay was brought before the St. James Parish Court on Wednesday.

The defendant, Claudine Clarke-Williams is facing a charge of larceny as a servant.

According to the allegations, an audit was conducted at the institution and over $1,2 million could not be accounted for.

Investigations were carried out, which led to the accused woman being arrested and charged.

During Wednesday’s proceedings, the court was told that the prosecution was awaiting some accounting documents from the institution.

 Her bail was extended until July 29.
