Jamaica News: The St Andrew police have released the identity of the 9-year-old student, who was swept away by flood water, in August Town, St Andrew, on Wednesday afternoon, September 25.
The child Kyle Richards, who attends the Hope Valley Experimental school in the parish.
Since the incident which occurred about 3:00 p.m., residents living in August Town, have joined forces with the police, in search of a 9-year-old boy.
Reports are that about 3:00 p.m., Kyle was walking home from school with a group of persons at a flooded area of the August Town community.
They were in the process of going across a flooded culvert when the child fell in the water and got swept away by the flood waters.
An alarm was raised and the search was launched for him, which was unsuccessful up to late afternoon on Wednesday. The search continued today, with members of the Fire Department coming on board.
