9 Tips To Get Pregnant Quickly

Before trying to get pregnant quickly, you need to take some steps to increase your chances of getting pregnant. You must stop using birth control, make some lifestyle changes, stop all bad habits, and start some healthy habits.

There are a few ways to get pregnant fast. PregMatters has put together the following tips to help you get pregnant quickly:

1. See Your Doctor

See your doctor and tell him/her about your decision to start trying to get pregnant. Make sure to inform you doctor about your existing medical conditions, medicines you are taking, and general lifestyle. The doctor will advice you about what to do and what not to do to increase your chances of getting pregnant.

2. Chart Your Cycle

Menstrual cycle is the time from the first day of you period to the day before your next period. Average length of a menstrual cycle is 28 days, but the length of a menstrual cycle range from 21 to 35 days. The cycle length can also vary from month to month in the same woman. Menstruation is controlled by hormones and occurs each month to prepare your body for pregnancy.

Your body releases an egg from the ovaries once a month, which is called ovulation. The egg travels to one of the fallopian tubes and waits to be fertilized by the sperm. The uterine thickens in preparation to receive the fertilized egg. If the egg is fertilized, it moves into the uterus, attached to the uterine lining, leading to pregnancy. You will not have a period if pregnancy happens. If the egg is not fertilized, you menstruate to shed the uterine lining in the form of menstrual discharge.

3. Track Your Ovulation

Ovulation is when a mature egg is released from the ovary each month. There are different methods of tracking the ovulation.

  • Calendar MethodOvulation normally happens about 14 to 16 days before your period starts. You can pinpoint the day if you maintain a record of length of your menstrual cycle on a calendar.
  • Basal Body Temperature Method: You can track your ovulation by measuring your basal body temperature each morning. If you see slight increase in temperature, it may mean that you are about to ovulate and further temperature increase means you are ovulating.
  • Ovulation Predictor Kit Method: You can use ovulation predictor kit to track your ovulation. Luteinizing hormone (LH) increases in your body just before ovulation. An OPK detects the LH surge and tells you when you are approaching ovulation and when you are actually ovulating. The test predicts ovulation based on LH concentrations in urine.

4. Have Sex Around Ovulation

The best way to get pregnant quickly is having vaginal sex on the days around ovulation. Sperm needs to fertilize an egg, which can happen if sperm is present in the fallopian tube when ovulation happens. Conception occurs when a fertilized egg attaches itself to the wall of your uterus. An egg lives for about 12 to 24 hours after its release. Sperm can survive in the women’s reproductive system for about 5 days after sex. Usually a woman is fertile for about 6 days of every menstrual cycle. You have good chance of getting pregnant if you have sex during five days before ovulation or on the day of ovulation.

5. Start Eating A Balanced Diet

Start eating a healthy and balanced diet full of beneficial nutrients immediately after you start trying to get pregnant. A healthy and balanced diet nourishes your body and prepares it for pregnancy.

6. Start Exercising

Regular exercise keeps you fit and increases your chances of getting pregnant quickly. Exercise and activity keeps your body in good condition and increases your chances of conceiving.

7. Quit Smoking

Quit smoking immediately after you decide to get pregnant. Smoking has harmful effects on the functioning of your reproductive system and blood vessels, drastically decreasing your chances of getting pregnant.

8. Stop Drinking Alcohol

Stop or at least reduce alcohol consumption if you want to get pregnant quickly. Drinking alcohol heavily affects your fertility and drastically reduces your chances of getting pregnant.

9. Quit Illicit Drugs

Stop using all forms of illicit or recreational drugs to improve your chances of getting pregnant. They are highly addictive and affects your central nervous system, drastically decreases your change of getting pregnant.
