PORTLAND, Jamaica — A child from Portland has been confirmed dead from the dengue disease.

Portland’s Medical Officer of Health Dr Sharon Lewis made the confirmation at the monthly meeting of the Portland Municipal Cooperation held at the Portland Municipal Chamber today.

Dr Lewis pointed out that there were 12 suspected cases in this year (2019) and in December 2018 nine cases.

She said that the child died in the St Ann’s Bay Hospital.
