74-year-old Man Shot and Injured During Robbery Attempt in Montego Bay

Jamaica Crime News, Montego Bay: A 74-year-old man is now battling for life at the Cornwall Regional Hospital, after he was shot and seriously injured by gunmen, during a robbery attempt in Glendevon, Montego Bay, St James, on Friday morning. December 7.

The name of the elderly man is being withheld by the police.

Reports by the Freeport police are that about 5:15 a.m. on Friday, the 74-year-old victim was at home in Glendevon when armed men forced their way inside the house.

The gunmen held the occupants at gunpoint and demanded money.

A tussle ensued between the gunmen and the occupants, during what time the elderly man was shot and injured.

The gunmen then made their escape in the area on foot, while residents alerted the police and upon their arrival, the wounded man was transported to hospital where he was admitted in critical condition.
