St. Andrew, Jamaica (McN) – A  56-year-old mother stabbed to death in her St. Andrew home on Tuesday night, April 11, have social media and the Christian community in uproar.

56-year-old Utelene Dawn Nugent, called Dawn, a mother of two children (boy and girl) was reportedly stabbed to death between 8 pm and 9 pm on Tuesday night. Neighbours of Nugent reportedly heard violent screams of help coming from her home on Stock Farm Road, in Kingston 9.

Residents called the police on hearing the screams – upon their arrival, police found the blood soaked body of Nugent lying in a pool of her blood with multiple stab wounds.

Her car is reported missing from her home.

Police who are investigating the motive for this violent killing, say at this time they cannot immediately confirm reports that Nugent’s motorcar was stolen.

Friends say that Nugent was a minister of faith and associated with the Immaculate Conception Parish and Missions, a teacher, a business woman, and woman of prayer.

Many have taken to social media to express their outrage and sadness.
