Jamaica Crime News, St Andrew: A 55-year-old Kingston laborer, who allegedly dragged a 9-year-old-girl into his yard and proceeded to assault her inside his bedroom, will appear in the Kingston and St Andrew Parish Court on July 11.
The accused appeared before Parish Judge Vaughn Smith last Friday and pleaded not guilty to Indecent assault. The judge extended his bail for him to return to court for his trial. In addition, he was also cautioned to avoid contact with the complainant or her relatives.
Based on allegations, on May 8 about 1:00 pm, the accused held on to the child while she was walking past his house. He then dragged her inside his bedroom, where he reportedly assaulted her. The child was able to escape when the accused daughter entered the bedroom during the act.
The incident was reported to the police by the child’s mother. Following investigations, the laborer was arrested and charged.
