Jamaica News: Hanover is set for its first National Housing Trust (NHT) project in over 20 years.
The Prime Minister did the symbolic ground breaking for the project on Friday.
Some 63 units will be constructed in the Industry Cove Manor development in Industry Cove, Hanover.
Prime Minister Andrew Holness said “It is necessary to put in place housing solutions for those coming to fill jobs in our expanding tourism sector.”
The NHT said it is committed to helping the people of Hanover to make a move toward homeownership. Their position follows recent criticism from
stakeholders that the trust purchased lands valued at J$971.3 million in Point Estate, Parbucle, Industry Cove, and Cousins Cove in Hanover but had left them idle.
