St. James, Jamaica (McKoy’s News)- 4-YEAR-OLD BABY BOY SHOT BY GUNMEN IN LILLIPUT ST. JAMES: A 4 years old baby boy is now battling for life at the Cornwall Regional Hospital following an incident in the Lilliput community on Sunday where gunmen shot up his father’s car in which the infant was traveling.
Investigators reported that shortly after 9:00 pm on Saturday The infant and his father who reside in Cornwall Courts Housing Scheme and a male friend drove to a section of the Lilliput community where he was supposed to pick up some money from a friend.
Upon reaching the area the father drove onto a beach area and parked intentionally to wait on the persons who were supposed to bring him the cash.
Minutes later he walked from the car and went to purchase cigarettes at a nearby shop leaving his 4 years old son with his friend in the vehicle after which a Mark X motor car and another Toyota Corolla Lilliput community drove up and both vehicles parked behind and in front of the parked car in which the baby and the other man were sitting. Two armed men then jumped from the Mark X and opened fire on the parked car hitting the baby to his upper body. The gunmen then drove away from the scene.
The gunmen then drove away from the scene.The shocked father jumped in the car and drove away but it was discovered that the baby had received gunshot wounds. He was rushed to the Cornwall Regional Hospital where the baby was treated and admitted in intensive care. The friend escaped unharmed.
The shooting was also reported to the Barrett Town police who are carrying out investigations.
