St James, Jamaica (McKoy’s News) – 4 Illegal Firearms Seized: Over the past seven days, the joint military forces in the State of Emergency have reported the seizure of four illegal firearms which included two Assault rifles and over 33 assorted rounds of ammunition.

The latest seizure came about on Monday morning in the community of Flankers.

Reports are that on Monday morning, a joint military team carried out several searches at a section of Flankers known as Rifle Lane.

During the operation, a drain was searched and two illegal firearms, an AK-47 Assault Rifle along with a Glock 9mm semi-automatic pistol were seized.  The assault rifle was discovered with an extra magazine and a total of 17 live rounds while the pistol was loaded with a magazine containing 7 live rounds.

No one has been arrested in connection with this latest seizure.

Since the start of the State of emergency last Tuesday, two assault rifles and one handgun were seized in Flankers community while the fourth pistol was seized at a funeral shooting on Saturday.
