St James, Jamaica (McKoy’s News) – 300 Murders Recorded in St James: With 32 days remaining in the year 2017, a total of 300 murders have been recorded so far in the parish of St James.
The police have now indicated that the latest murder victim who took the tally to 300, has been identified as 24-yr-old Richard McKay otherwise called Richard, unemployed of Second Street in Farm Heights.
Reports by the Mount Salem police are that shortly after 5:30 a.m. on Thursday morning, Mckay and another man were walking from a friend’s house at a gully section of Farm Heights when they were ambushed by a lone gunman. The gunman fired several shots which caught McKay in the region of his upper body. The gunman then made his escape in the area on foot.
The police were summoned and on arrival, the wounded man was transported to the Cornwall Regional Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
During the past week over 12 persons have been murdered throughout the parish of St James. Also, a total of 38 persons have been murdered in the parish during the month of November. In the previous month of October, the same total of 38 persons were also murdered in the parish.
