Jamaica Crime News, Kingston: Cocaine estimated with a street value of Jamaican $30 million, was seized at a Port in Kingston by the Narcotics Team and Contraband Enforcement Team attached to the Jamaica Customs Department, on Thursday, August 9.
No one was arrested in connection with the seizure.
Reports by the police are that about 2:30 a.m. on Thursday, they were inspecting a shipping container which had just arrived on the island from Venezuela when they noticed irregularities.
A search was carried out of the container which led to the discovery of 25 packages, all containing cocaine. The drug was seized and an investigation is now being carried out.
