The Counter Terrorism and Organised Crime Investigation Branch ( C-TOC ) seized 20 illegal firearms and over 750 assorted rounds of ammunition at a Terminal in Kingston on Tuesday, February 26.
No one has been arrested in connection with the seizure so far.
Reports are that about 10:30 a.m., teams from the Customs and Contraband Units were processing a container when irregularities were detected.
A further search led to the discovery of four high powered rifles, one submachine gun, nine semi-automatic pistols and six revolvers.
A quantity of 791 assorted rounds of ammunition was also seized.
The weapons were said to have been shipped from a destination in the USA to Jamaica.
