18-year-old Teenage Boy Killed in Green Pond, St James

Jamaica Crime News, St James: An 18-year-old boy was shot and killed by gunmen, in the community of Green Pond, in St James on Monday night into Tuesday morning, June 18.

The dead teen has been identified as Mark Powell Jr, of Princess Street, also in Montego Bay.

Reports by the Freeport police are that Mark was last seen alive about 8:00 p.m., last evening, by his father Mark Powell Snr.

Residents living in the vicinity of Hillview Crescent, in Green Pond, reported hearing gunshots being fired in the area, during the hours of the night.

About 6:30 a.m., on Tuesday, residents went to investigate and stumbled upon the teen’s bullet-riddled body, which was lying along a dirt road, in the community.

The police were summoned and upon arrival, it was discovered that Mark had been shot multiple times all over his body.

The teen’s father, Mark Powell Snr, told our news team that he last spoke to his son after they both came in from work on Monday night.

According to Mr. Powell, he gave his son $1000 to purchase some food and told him not to leave the yard, but he was shocked when he came home later and found that he was gone.

He further stated that his son has a girlfriend in Green Pond, but he does not know exactly where she lives.
