17 children dead over a 2 weeks period at the Bustamante Children’s Hospital ICU

Reports are now surfacing that there has been a sharp increase in the number of deaths at the Bustamante Hospital for Children. An inside source has confirmed that most of these deaths are presumed to be from dengue fever even though the exact number is not available until post mortems are performed.

There are currently no dengue testing kits available resulting in the inability to confirm diagnoses. Other children have also succumbed to the illness on the various wards of the hospital and en route to the facility from other hospitals.

These figures were revealed in a stakeholder meeting at the hospital held earlier this week where doctors have been lamenting over crowding of the facility and the need for additional medical staff.
