Update: 164 St James Murders Since the Start of the Year



St James, Jamaica (McKoy’s News) –164 St James Murders Since the Start of the Year: Since the start of the year 2017 a total of 164 persons have been brutally slain by gunmen in the parish of St James. Several community members say they are now very concerned with the pattern of these killings especially with the police making an all-out attempt to curve crime. One of the latest victim to be killed is believed to have fallen prey to gang warfare.

He has been identified as 20-yr-old Leonard Alexander, unemployed of  Salt Spring.

Reports by the Montego Hills police are that about 2:30 a.m. on Saturday the deceased and other family members were at home when armed men kicked open their door and entered the house.

The gunmen then opened fire hitting the victim to his upper body before making good their escape from the dwelling.

The police were alerted and on arrival, the scene was processed and the wounded man was transported to the Cornwall Regional Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Investigators say they are now making headway into these killings and are also receiving intelligence that should see these gunmen placed behind bars shortly.
