Jamaica Crime News, Manchester: A 16-year-old boy who was arrested and charged for allegedly abducting and raping, an 11-year-old female student, was remanded into custody, when he appeared before the Manchester Parish Court, last Wednesday.
The accused whose name cannot be released, is facing charges of Rape, Forcible abduction, Assault, Occasioning grievously bodily harm, Grievous sexual assault.
Reports are that on Thursday, June 18, the child who resides at Newport, in Manchester, was coming home from school, when she was allegedly attacked by the accused boy, who allegedly dragged her into bushes, raped her, and then knocked her unconscious.
The child was discovered later that day and transported to hospital, where she was treated and admitted.
The police carried out a series of operations in the community and the boy was held. He was later pointed out in an identification parade.
The accused is booked, to reappear in court next week.
