12-year-old Commits Suicide in Westmoreland
Westmoreland, Jamaica (McKoy’s News) 12-year-old Commits Suicide: The Westmoreland police are now carrying out investigations surrounding the death of a 12-year-old boy, who is believed to have committed suicide at his home in the parish on Saturday afternoon.
The dead student has been identified as Geshon Golaube, 12 years old, of Chantilly Gardens Housing Scheme in Savanna-la-mar.
Reports are that shortly after 2:00 pm on Saturday, the child’s family members got concerned when they did not see him around the house as usual.
They started to search for him and looked in his room. They noticed that the door to his room was locked, and peeping through, one family member saw him hanging from the bed pole.
They immediately broke down the door, and upon entering, they discovered that he was hanging from a black belt, which was tied around his neck and suspended from the bed pole.
The police were summoned and the body of the 12-year-old was transported to the Savanna-la-mar Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
