Latest Jamaica News, Westmoreland (McKoy’s News): Westmoreland Motor Vehicle Accident – A 10-year-old died at hospital from injuries he sustained, after he was run over by a motor vehicle which was traveling along a section of Dunbar River main road, in Westmoreland, on Sunday, August 18.
The boy has been identified as Jotwain Johnson, of Barracks Road also in the parish, and student at Unity Primary School.
Reports by the Westmoreland police are that about 3:15 p.m., Jotwain was walking along a section of Dunbar River main road, in the vicinity of the Petcom gas station, when he attempted to cross the roadway.
The child was hit by a blue Toyota Corolla motor car, which was being driven by 28-year-old Nicoy Smith, a Security Guard of Cave district, also in Westmoreland.
He sustained head and body injuries and was rushed to the Savanna-la-mar hospital, where he was admitted in critical condition.
Jotwain succumbed to his injuries at hospital, shortly after 10 p.m., on Sunday night.
The police say the driver of the ill-fated vehicle has since been warned for prosecution.
