A 24 year-old man pleaded not guilty to child abuse in court, for abandoning his baby girl outside a strip club to buy lap dance.
It is alleged that Auwin Dargin of Van Nuys, California locked his 9 month-old baby girl in his car in the parking lot of the Synn Gentlemen’s Club on Sepulveda Boulevard for roughly an hour in the middle of the afternoon.
The assistant manage of the club said he became suspicious when the patron repeatedly left the club to look inside his car.
Upon investigating the matter, he approached the car and saw a baby girl crying in the back seat and sweating. The assistant manager and employees from a neighboring business worked to free the infant by unlocking the door through a small gap in the window. A waitress got water for the little girl, who was upset.
He then alerted his manager, who he said went inside to locate the child’s father and found Dargin in the middle of a lap dance.
“Just give me my baby and I know I am messing up,” Dargin said, according to the assistant manager, after leaving the lap dance.
When the assistant manager refused to hand over the infant, Dargin allegedly ran out of the club, abandoning his daughter.
The Los Angeles police caught up with Dargin who was later arrested and the child taken into the custody child protective services charged with child abuse.
‘I thought it was unbelievable,’ LAPD officer Charles Chacon said. ‘I could not believe a father would put his child in that type of danger.’
Auwin Dargin, 26, was sentenced to 10 days in prison for child abuse in Los Angeles and told to take a year of parenting classes.
Scores of comments online are blaming the father for not being a good parent, and not having his priorities in tact, many others are arguing, that the assistant manager should have just sent him home and not contact the police while others commend the club for taking precaution as he’s clearly an unfit father.
