United States (AOL.com)-Rose McGowan Claims Harvey Weinstein Raped HerAfter Twitter suspended her account, Rose McGowan returned to the social media platform on Thursday afternoon and revealed that Harvey Weinstein allegedly raped her.

The actress, who had been named in the New York Times’ initial Oct. 5 exposé as having reached a settlement with Weinstein in 1997, slammed Amazon chief Jeff Bezos in a string of explosive tweets for allegedly ignoring her claims, despite her telling Bezos’ Amazon Studios head “over and over” that the rape had indeed occurred.

The reveal comes almost exactly a year after McGowan revealed that a “studio head” had raped her. Last October, the hashtag #WhyWomenDontReport trended on Twitter to raise awareness around why some women don’t report rape or sexual assault when it happens, educating people who criticize women for not coming forward quickly enough — or at all.

“a (female) criminal attorney said because I’d done a sex scene in a film I would never win against the studio head. #WhyWomenDontReport,” she tweeted in October 2016. “because it’s been an open secret in Hollywood/Media & they shamed me while adulating my rapist. #WhyWomenDontReport”

“Because my ex sold our movie to my rapist for distribution #WhyWomenDontReport,” she continued.

Back in 1997, McGowan reached a $100,000 with Weinstein following an incident in a hotel room during the Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah.

McGowan has been extremely vocal on Twitter in support of women who have come forward with claims against Weinstein over the past week since the Times’ report was published. On Wednesday night, however, the social media platform suspended her account for 12 hours reportedly for tweeting out someone’s personal phone number.
